Blackspace collaborates with people who want to change the world as much as change themselves: Green City, UnternehmerTUM, Lufthansa and CWS. Once again this proves successful for the owner-managed design studio: Fee revenues increased again, Blackspace currently ranks 6th in the PAGE-Ranking of branding agencies. This month, they move into their tailor-made “Blackhouse“, the visionary new work space to merge work, life, co-creation, hotel, bar and cinema – realizing their idea of creativity of the 21st century.
With a team of 60 designers, architects, strategists and video artists, Blackspace has found the ideal form for the greatest possible impact. Together with their clients, they work on brand strategy, corporate design, space identity and brand experience. “We have found the perfect setting between structure, house, customers and attitude and are hungry for exciting projects,” Michael Keller is sure. “As designers we can only have an impact with our partners if we have the right size to make our promise come true: Reinvent the Experience – to create new experiences, but also to be able to keep them.” Blackspace has been working successfully with partners such as Siemens Hausgeräte, Volkswagen, Audi and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen for years. In 2018, Blackspace increased its fee revenues by 10 percent, with 40 percent of its total turnover coming from international projects. The area of strategic consulting is also growing, because every design process starts with strategy.
New spaces for creativity
More than ever before, Blackspace sees the “creative swarm”, following a common mission, as a model for success in the future. Those who live this way of working must create a suitable place for themselves: The brand experience studio will soon move into the new Blackhouse, situated in the former Condé Nast building. “Our new home is a place where formerly separate areas merge. On six floors we combine creativity, culture and hospitality into our vision for creative collaboration in the 21st century,” explains Managing Partner Marc Ziegler.
We are the energy of a Green City
At the same time, Blackspace is serious about its mission to change the world. “I believe that every entrepreneur today has to see the big picture and his own overall balance. We have been working for the automotive industry for years. On the other hand, there is our urban living space, which we want to change for the better,” says Managing Partner Christoph Rohrer. Thus Blackspace shares the vision of the sustainable energy and mobility provider Green City, co-creates and translates it into a corporate design that gives the company a voice for its own mission. Over 1,000 bright orange Emmy electric scooters from Green City are the latest proof of this collaboration.
And again Blackspace also refers this topic directly to itself – in the Blackhouse a fleet of 20 black electric scooters is waiting for the team to take a ride through the city.
